In a wild turn of events, Serie A just made an important decision about the suspended Juventus vs Napoli match from earlier this season.

Remember the suspended Juventus vs Napoli match that the Bianconeri won without playing? Well, the Southern Italian club made a court appeal for it that was ongoing until today. They attempted to convince the Serie A board to allow them to play the match because the circumstances weren’t their fault. To those who don’t remember, here’s some context. Ahead of Napoli’s Serie A visit to Juventus for the season’s fixture, some Covid-19 cases were reported within the club.

This prompted the league to forbid them from traveling to Turin and lost the match to forfeit. According to the Serie A rulebook, any team that doesn’t show up loses 3-0 and Juventus didn’t even flinch. They took one point from Napoli for not showing and gave three to their opponents. Today, all that changes and the game is back on. Sky Sport Italy confirmed the ruling.

Still no date on the replay.

After the ruling from Serie A once Napoli won the appeal, they have to come up with a date for the replay to take place. Juventus will have to play against an angry Napoli squad that will go all out to defeat the club that didn’t have the sensibility to understand the situation. We might be right in front of an explosive match that will only add to the already existing rivalry between these two clubs.

It’s the South vs the North all over again between Napoli and Juventus. We are here for it and we want to enjoy every second. As things stand right now, Juventus ranks third with 27 points and the Naples side ranks fifth with 23. This game is very important for both sides as they are both considered title contenders this season.
