Former Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol gave his opinion on Kylian Mbappe’s future in La Liga after Messi and Ronaldo’s departures.

It is a common question that has been circling around in the football industry that whether or not there is a need for Kylian Mbappe in La Liga. And the former Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol is of the opinion that he should play in Spain after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s departures.

Once upon a time, these two Ballon d’Or winners enlightened La Liga with their incredible out-of-the-world performances. However, after their individual conquests, we are witnessing a whole new era of football.

Not surprisingly, Ronaldo is back at Manchester United after spending three years at Juventus in Serie A. Whereas, Messi has said an emotional goodbye to his beloved Barcelona and joined Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

Despite these two legends exiting their clubs, the Clasico rivalry will still continue to exist. And it has been suggested by many that Mbappe should make his way to Madrid sooner or later. Similarly, Albiol, who now plays with Villareal wants the Frenchman to join La Liga.

He told of Mbappe to AS: “I would like to see him in the league, he is a great player, world-class. And I think players like this are needed in the Spanish League after the departure of Cristiano and Messi. It is important that they come.”

“And important for Real Madrid, which is a team that I have played for.”

In spite of several attempts from Real Madrid, PSG did not accept terms with the Spanish outfit as yet another transfer window has shut down. Though Mbappe might become a free agent in 2022 and he will be open to any transfer negotiations from January.
