Ahead of France’s sensational Nations League match against Portugal, Didier Deschamps gave his opinion about PSG’s interest in Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been signaled as a possible PSG target for the upcoming summer transfer window in 2021. The French giants are amongst the few clubs in the world that can pay the Juventus’ star’s salary. As Portugal comes closer to another Nations League match against Portugal, we got to hear Didier Deschamps’ opinion on the matter.
It’s no secret that PSG has been after either Messi or Cristiano for years but they couldn’t complete a transfer. Now that both players are veterans but still have a decent level of performance, anything seems possible. Despite pushing 36 years of age, Ronaldo is still Top 3 amongst the best players in the world next to Messi and Mbappe.
A move to PSG could place the French giants back on track to fight for the Champions League next season. Everybody believes his arrival would be fantastic news for Ligue 1. But as far as the France boss is concerned, his opinion was very clear on the matter of Ronaldo possibly going to PSG next summer.
Deschamps think’s it’s certainly possible.
Ahead of Saturday’s match between France and Portugal, Deschamps responded to all kinds of questions about the game. He also took some time to respond to specific details about his players as well as revealing who will be available to play this game. When the time came to ask him about Ronaldo’s possible transfer to PSG, Deschamps was very clear with his response.
Deschamps said the following statement via Sport: “Anything is possible in football. I think he is already in a great club. Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world, it’s natural to attract so many clubs for a player who accomplishes what he did. It’s normal for someone who can do the things he does. Now, I have no idea about him going to Paris. I know nothing about that but there’s no question he is an exceptional player who has improved over the years. He is part of the best.”
