The Catalans move top of the La Liga table by securing their third consecutive league victory.
Barcelona defeated Cadiz 4-0 in their La Liga game on Saturday. The Catalans displayed a promising performance ahead of their upcoming European clash against Bayern Munich.
Lewa strikes again!
Barca took control of the possession early on but struggled to make enough chances. The Catalans spent most of the first period inside Cadiz’s half.
However, the hosts kept Barca at bay by relentlessly chasing them away with high pressing.
The Catalans looked much better after half-time, doubling down on their attacks from both flanks.
Xavi’s side finally broke the deadlock through Frenkie de Jong‘s goal in the 55th minute.
A brilliant through ball from Raphinha found Gavi, who then provided a precise cutback for the Dutch midfielder.
Barcelona continued their attacks after the goal as they pushed to secure the victory. Only ten minutes later, Robert Lewandowski doubled his side’s lead by converting a loose ball inside the six-yard box.
The Catalans were on their way to win when the referee halted the game due to medical issues on the stands.
Upon the game’s restart, Barca managed to continue their attacks, scoring twice more through Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele.
An impressive dipslay against Cadiz comes before Barca’s upcoming Champions League clash against Bayern, who drew 2-2 against Stuttgart earlier today.
