As the Super League’s vice-chairman, the Italian businessman is looking at his ideal crumble in a matter of hours. The clubs from England who are stepping down from the project are the reason he is seriously considering his resignation.
Miguel Delaney from The Independent initially reported that Andrea Agnelli might be next after Woodward. If this happens, we might be upon a historic moment in European football. Florentino Perez’s position might be compromised if both of the founding clubs are sacking people. Although there isn’t confirmation on the Real Madrid chairman yet, we might get a reaction from him in the next hours.
Juventus deny Agnelli’s resignation.
After the rumors started rolling, Juventus had to come out and deny Andrea Agnelli is resigning from his position. Several news outlets and journalists reached out to the club in order to make inquiries about these rumors. Agnelli is currently analyzing the entire situation and having meetings with the remaining European Super League founding clubs.
