The Gunners hit a new low after the defeat on Sunday night as they have now made the worst start to a league campaign in their history.

Arsenal walked away empty-handed from their latest Premier League fixture, losing out 2-1 to Wolves at home.

Gabriel stuck at the half-hour mark to level the scoreline after Pedro Neto had opened the scoring but Daniel Podence late strike in the first half proved to the match decider.

The match marred by an unfortunate accident that saw Raul Jimenez rushed to the hospital after clashing against David Luiz marked their visitors’ first win at the Emirates since 1979.

For the hosts, on the other hand, it marked a third successive home loss with the defeat also extending their winless run to three league games.

Arsenal have managed to collect only 13 points from 10 games so far – their worst tally in the English top-flight since the 1981/82 season.

Mikel Arteta appears to be out of control as, after early visible signs of progress following his appointment last term, things have increasingly started to go south this season.

“We need more goals to win football matches. We’re creating chances but struggling to score goals. That’s the difference between winning and losing,” Arteta said, speaking to BBC Sport.

“When you lose matches the confidence goes down because they believe things can happen again. This is the first time since we’ve been here [that they’ve had a losing run].”

“It’s a really bad result,” Arteta admitted to Sky Sports. “The team showed desire but the goal didn’t arrive. There are no excuses, we have to improve.”
