Nicolas Pepe has been sharp in front of goal lately, and now his manager wants to see improvement in other aspects of his game as well.

Nicolas Pepe was on the scoresheet in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Molde in Europa League matchday 3 on Thursday night.

The Ivory Coast international stuck home from 12 yards on Bukayo Saka’s cut-back from the left as his side marched on to make their case stronger for qualification from Group B.

It was the winger’s 11th appearance of the season. Only in one of those he has played from the start as he is yet to convince Mikel Arteta of breaking into his starting XI.

Pepe has a goal contribution every 60 minutes in Europe and appears to be on the right track to deliver on the expectations that came with his €80 million price tag.

However, Arteta insists the Arsenal record signing still has a lot of work to do before cementing a place in his line-up.

“Consistency throughout the game. throughout 90 minutes, in every game, in the final third, the final product has to be better not just from him. We have to put higher demands at the moment,” said Arteta, via The Mirror.

“He scored a great goal and another assist and he can do more so he’s on the right path.

“In general consistency wise in the final third we have to finish more things better and we can improve a lot. That goes to every single player.”
