Yet another woeful performance and undesired result on Sunday saw the Gunners remain deep down the bottom half of the league table.

The pressure on Arsenal grew intense after they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham in the Premier League.

First-half goals from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were enough to ensure that the visiting team take no point from the crunch clash at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

After what was their sixth league defeat in 11 games, the red side of north London are closer to the drop zone than they are to a Champions League place early in the campaign.

The Gunners have been largely uninventive in the final third and inconsistent overall this season.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang‘s dip in form hasn’t helped either, with the forward having scored just a single goal from open play so far this season. The Gabonese’s has been a shadow of his usual self ever since putting pen to paper on his lucrative new three-year contract.

Only 13 points from the first 11 games have been picked up by Mikel Arteta’s men – their lowest return at this stage of a Premier League campaign in 39 years.

1981-82 saw them pick up a mere 12 points after almost half a dozen league matches played.
