Arsenal have been handed a potential boost with news that Thomas Partey could be back available to play after suffering a recent injury.

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is said to be nearing a return to action as he continues his recovery from injury.

The Ghana international was forced off during the lackluster 3-0 home defeat to Aston Villa before the international break.

Partey was initially due to link up with the Black Stars for their two-legged African Cup Of Nations qualifying tie against Sudan, but remained in London to focus on his recovery.

According to Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts, a source close to the 27-year-old revealed that he is ‘pretty confident’ that the setback is only minor, and is hoping to be back in action ‘pretty soon’.

And following that, TheAFCBell on Twitter said that Partey would return for the game against Leeds United.

The Twitter account has previously offered fans Partey news before and the tweet has been referenced by a number of other respected Arsenal accounts.

The translation of the tweet read: “Thomas Partey will be available for the next Arsenal match right after the international hiatus.”

Partey joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid on deadline day last month after the club exercised the £45 million release clause in his contract.

Since making the switch he has played in four Premier League matches, starting three of them.

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a shock 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa and the availability of Partey will be a welcome boost for Mikel Arteta. The Ghanaian has so far impressed and will no doubt set his sights on even better performances.
