The Cameroon legend has lifted the lid on how Jose Mourinho brought the best out of the squad during their time together at Inter Milan.
Samuel Eto’o claims Jose Mourinho’s player management skills and relationship with the fans made him the ‘perfect’ manager for Inter Milan.
The former striker played under Mourinho at Inter and Chelsea between 2009 to 2014. The duo developed a close relationship and respect toward each other in their time together. In fact, Mourinho has said in the past that Eto’o should’ve won a Ballon d’Or at least once in his career.

The 40-year-old, who worked alongside some of the world’s greatest managers at clubs like Barcelona, has now repaid the compliment in kind.
Speaking at the Sports Festival in Trento, Eto’o told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “We had a team of coaches [at Inter]. With a unique head coach [Mourinho].
“He perfectly understood every player and the sentiments of the Inter fans. He knew how to combine these two things, he was perfect.”
Eto’o and Mourinho’s most famous moment, of course, was leading Inter to a historic treble in 2009/10 by winning the Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
11 years on from that famous triumph, the latter returned to Italy in the summer to become the manager of AS Roma.
