The former PSG manager has vastly impressed during his three-month tenure at Stamford Bridge since replacing Frank Lampard.
Thomas Tuchel suggests he is open to signing a contract with Chelsea as he “feels like part of the family” at the club and wants to stay for “as long as possible”.
Chelsea spent significantly last summer to bolster their squad but they frequently left the fans wanting for more in the first half of the season.
However, the Blues have been nothing short of spectacular since Tuchel took over in January. They remain unbeaten away from home in all competitions and have suffered defeat only twice under the German tactician.
Also, the London side have booked their place in the semi-final of the Champions League, are through to the FA Cup final, and are in contention for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Speaking after the 1-0 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City, the Blues boss, who accepted an 18-month contract offer upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge, admitted that he would like to extend his stay at the club.
“I had these concerns [over the length of my contract] and after 15 minutes I said to myself it changes nothing how many years the contract says,” Tuchel told reporters, as per Sky Sports.
“I demand to deliver, to have an impact and be the best I can.
“If I deserve to stay, I want to stay as long as possible. I feel like part of the family, it is super professional, we have unbelievable support and I want to fight on the touchline with this team.
“I don’t care what the contract says. If I deserve to stay longer, I will stay longer. I feel free and good, I’m at the right place. If I want to stay long, I need to deliver week in, week out.”
