Chelsea’s summer signing lasted around half an hour before leaving the pitch in the Premier League win against Leeds United.
Frank Lampard announced Hakim Ziyech suffered a hamstring problem in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Leeds and he will have to wait a few days to discover the full damage.
The former Ajax star played only 30 minutes of Saturday’s showdown at Stamford Bridge before Christian Pulisic replaced him. The American proceeded to score the third and final goal to wrap up a stellar victory.
But Ziyech’s injury was an unwelcome setback, especially as it was the first time Blues supporters got to see the summer signing in action after being allowed back into the stands following a nine-month wait.

“Hamstring. He felt it go,” said Lampard as quoted on the Express. “We will have to see over the next few days.”
Former Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, meanwhile, handed Leeds an early lead inside four minutes. But Olivier Giroud equalized before the break, with Kurt Zouma and Pulisic’s second-half goals settling the match.
“We started brilliantly in the first few minutes but then they scored so that’s a test straight away,” added Lampard.
“We created so many opportunities, stayed positive and defended well. We had to accept they would probably create chances but I thought we dominated the game in terms of action in the two boxes.
“I thought we deserved the win though it was a bit nervy until the end.
“It’s our job to get the message across. Even our center-backs, Thiago Silva, the moments he had to bring his quality through, he did that. There were lots of good individual performances.”
