Stamford Bridge was the place where Chelsea and Leeds United met again in the Premier League. We have the player ratings.

The Lampard vs Bielsa rivalry translated into Leeds United and Chelsea today from the Championship to the Premier League. It’s impossible to forget Marcelo Bielsa’s boss move to accept guilt for spying on his rivals. Unbeknownst to him, this is completely unacceptable in football and considered cheating.

We all remember Frank Lampard was the most vocal person who demanded punishment for the Argentine manager. After this episode, Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League brought hopes for a thrilling encounter between both managers at the highest level.

Needless to say, we can tell you it was everything we hoped it would be. Patrick Bamford opened the scoreboard with a fantastic solo goal in which he dribbled past Mendy. Regardless of the initial result, Lampard didn’t seem to mind because he has an impressive roster.

Giroud does it again for Chelsea.

The comeback was almost scripted for Olivier Giroud to lead it. Ever since he threatened to leave the club if he didn’t get any minutes, Frank Lampard saw reason and got a pleasant surprise. We can safely tell you this past week has been Olivier Giroud’s best moment of his entire career, which has already been quite brilliant. He scored the equalizer before half time and helped the Blues get back in the game.

After Kurt Zouma’s goal from a corner kick, Christian Pulisic sealed the victory with a fantastic collective effort. The American forward came back from a long injury and scored a brilliant goal to allow Chelsea the top of the Premier League table. But make no mistake, the man of the match was Olivier Giroud.
