According to a report, Neymar will only consider a new contract at PSG on one condition in particular. It’s linked with Lionel Messi.
Neymar will only sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain if the French giants agree to a move to sign Lionel Messi next summer, as per a report.
The Brazilian forward continues to be linked with a return to former club Barcelona while PSG remain rooted in keeping their star man at the club.
It is no secret that Neymar and Messi still maintain close contact off the pitch despite the Brazilian departing Camp Nou in 2017.
The latest indication of the above was an eye-catching statement from the PSG man saying he wants another reunion with the Barcelona captain.
If that wasn’t enough, reports started to fly around not long after that Messi could be at the French capital next summer. The Argentine is out of contract at Barca next summer and PSG are very much capable of handling the financial requirements that would come with his signature.
On the path of PSG, they might now have to grant Neymar his wish to keep him at the club. The Brazilian’s contract expires in 2022 and a report has named what he wants before he would consider an extension.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 28-year-old wants to see his close friend Messi at the Parc des Princes.
It could also be that Neymar could join Messi at Barcelona, but the chances of that happening are rather slim. It would also depend on the outcome of the presidential elections at the club set to take place in January. As it stands, many of the candidates are divided on the idea of bringing Neymar back to the club.
