Lucas Hernandez did not have a perfect year in Bavaria and has been linked with a return to France with Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern Munich decimated everyone who came in front of them. Hansi Flick have changed their fortunes and masterminded probably the greatest winning streak in Bayern’s history.
The German and European champions were unbeatable. Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer became relevant again for the Bavarians.
Lucas Hernandez should have been one of the stars for Die Roten after his record-breaking transfer. But the French defender failed to acclimatize in his new surroundings.
The rumor mills has concocted links away from Munich, which the 2018 World Cup winner has vehemently denied.
“Leave Bayern? No. I still have four years of contract, I just signed there,” he told Telefoot.
“After that, it will depend on this season. If it continues to be complicated like that, I will see.”
With respect to specific questions about Paris Saint-Germain, the World Cup winner equivocally categorized such speculation as rumors.
“These are rumors, but personally I haven’t received anything yet, neither my agent nor my relatives,” he added.
Injuries were the major reason why Hernandez failed to live up to his billing. Hansi Flick still has the former Atletico Madrid man in his plans but believes he will have to overcome his tactical deficiencies.
“Lucas is an absolute professional, I like his dynamic training,” Flick said. “He was absent for a long time and therefore has tactical deficits.
“I’m happy with him, every player needs a rhythm. I see its potential.”
