The Real Madrid star suffered another injury setback recently and is a major doubt for the return of the Champions League.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane revealed Eden Hazard may recover from his latest injury setback in the next ‘two or three weeks’.

The former Chelsea winger suffered yet another muscle injury during a training session earlier in the week. It’s his fourth injury setback of the season and third muscular problem overall. He also missed most of November due to a positive COVID-19 test.

“It’s not an easy time for the footballer,” said Zidane on Hazard’s injury setback as quoted on beinSPORTS.

“I’m sure it’s a matter of time before we see him back playing and hopefully he won’t pick up another injury. Hopefully, when he recovers, we see the best Hazard, maybe in two or three weeks when he recovers.”

Hazard has suffered 10 injuries since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer of 2019.

“I think it’s a bit of bad luck,” continued Zidane. “It’s not been easy on the player. We have to maintain a positive attitude. He’s a great player, we need him back 100 percent.

“Do you think he’s happy with what’s going on? Well, no. He’s doing what he can to be in good shape, but you know in the life of a player you can be injured.

“We’ll have to look at maybe changing something and improve this situation. He’s the first player who wants to be fine, of course.”

If Zidane’s two to three-week prediction is correct, Hazard will miss at least four La Liga games. More importantly, however, it leaves him in a race against time to be available for Real Madrid’s first leg against Atalanta in the Champions League last-16 on February 24.
