Ahead of next weekend’s La Liga match, Zinedine Zidane grew tired of so many questions from the press about his future and lashed out.

It’s only normal Zinedine Zidane isn’t happy with the Spanish press after the treatment he’s gotten in recent weeks. A manager who won La Liga last season and three consecutive Champions League titles doesn’t deserve that. But the local press is highly sensationalist and they are talking about ‘Zizou’ as if he just got fired when he loses a game. This type of dynamic has to be extremely draining for him and the players.

It was obvious Zidane would eventually snap back at one of them for asking him the same thing over and over. Ahead of Los Blancos’ visit to Huesca, the manager spoke about the team’s commitment. But some members of the press kept asking him about his future and he finally snapped. All the French manager demands is a little respect that he believes he earned over these years. He wants nothing more but patience and respect.

Is Zidane right to snap at the press?

Through Diario AS, this is what Zidane said: “I don’t know what will happen, the important thing is that we concentrate & we deserve to finish with this squad, with the players who are here. There is talk that the coach is going to change, what will happen will happen. I’m lucky to be here, I won’t let it go. Last year we won the League, we have the right to fight for it. Next year things have to change, it’s true. The team won the league last year, not 10 years ago. They have the right to fight for it, to compete. You say many things, but say it to my face, that you want me out.

“In the end you [media] are doing your job, but it is true that one day I’m out, the next a little bit in. If we draw or lose I am out. It is the reality of what you are doing. Inside we will try to do our job, you have to be a little respectful. What makes me laugh is what you ask me, I don’t know. I have the impression that I am the only one who thinks that every day I am leaving. I’m not happy that they ask me every time we play a bad game, I don’t deserve this treatment from the press.”
