During today’s press conference, Zinedine Zidane made a surprising revelation about Eden Hazard’s injury recovery at Real Madrid.
Eden Hazard is currently going through the worst moment of his professional career, Zidane is very aware of the situation. The French manager trusted the Belgian star from the start, he was the one who practically begged Florentino to sign him. Now that he had a chance to prove himself, Eden has been nothing but disappointment after disappointment.
With a total of 10 injuries in two seasons, Hazard will sit out more matches than the ones he will play at Real Madrid. There was an initial fear he would have to undergo surgery after the most recent incident. But ‘Zizou’ just gave the fans a hopeful update on the situation. According to Diario AS, Hazard was advised by his personal doctor to get a second opinion in London. After coming back from the UK, the club decided that surgery is not the best option.

So many muscular problems from different parts of his body are not normal, something has to be causing this. According to the Real Madrid doctors, the injury Hazard suffered more than a year ago against PSG is the main reason this happened. Which technically means he never truly recovered from that problem. However, the bottom line is that Real Madrid can’t afford to have Hazard on the sidelines for much longer due to his price-tag. If avoiding the operating room is possible, that’s the route the club is willing to take.
Zidane spoke about Hazard during Friday’s press briefing ahead of this weekend’s activity: “What we want is for Eden to get completely recovered. This is the most important thing for us. We don’t want him to go into an operating room. Perhaps we will have a different plan for him. All was want is for him to return healthy and completely recovered.”
