According to a report from La Sexta, Zinedine Zidane could miss Real Madrid’s next two matches in La Liga and the Spanish Supercup. 

Zinedine Zidane might miss Real Madrid’s next two matches, the reason this happened is directly linked to today’s global situation. According to a report from Jugones La Sexta, the French manager intimate circle is in danger. One of his closest relatives tested positive for Covid-19 and this person had contact with the manager. This made him go into quarantine and follow the protocol established by the Spanish La Liga.

According to the rules, the manager had to undergo a PCR test which came back negative today. However, these rules confirm that the manager has to undergo a second test three days from now in order to be sure he is not infected. This means Zidane won’t be able to be available for the upcoming La Liga match Real Madrid play on Saturday at Osasuna. 

Can Zidane make it to the Supercup?

In order to make it to the Spanish Supercup next week against Athletic Club, Zinedine Zidane has to come out with a second negative PCR test. If he comes out positive, we all know he need to quarantine and begin his treatment in order to prevent further disease. But for now, the French manager just needs to wait three days in order to get tested again.

We can’t consider him infected with the virus just yet but he needs to remain quarantined. It should be interesting to see how the players react without having their manager on the bench during the trip to Pamplona on Saturday. As of right now, it is 100% confirmed ‘Zizou’ will miss that La Liga match during the weekend.
