Los Blancos have endured a trophyless season for the first time in 11 years, and the legendary Frenchman finds himself in hot water.

Zinedine Zidane has failed to provide any guarantee over his Real Madrid future amid rumors linking him with an exit from the club.

The title race between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid went down to the wire and it was the former who endured a heartbreak. Real’s hard-fought 2-1 win against Villarreal proved to be inconsequential as Atletico clinched the La Liga crown by beat Real Valladolid with an identical scoreline.

2020/21 has turned to be a season to forget for the Madridistas, with an embarrassing exit from Copa del Rey at the hands of a Segunda Division B side, getting close to their 14th Champions League crown but not quite making it, a multitude of injuries, and now the failure to defend the title among the reasons contributing to it.

Uncertainty has surrounded Zidane’s future at the club for some time now, with reports even claiming he has already communicated his decision to leave at the end of the season to the players.

“Now we have to be calm and in the next few days we’ll talk about it,” Zidane told the press after Real Madrid’s final match of the La Liga campaign, via Marca.

“In a little while, we’ll see what’s going to happen. Not only with me, but with everything the club is going to do for next season.”
