The Gunners are reportedly on the verge of offloading the Swiss midfielder as they look to raise funds ahead of the summer transfer market.
Granit Xhaka refuses to be drawn into talks of his future insisting he is currently entirely focused on Switzerland’s Euro 2020 campaign.
From having a fall-out with the club’s fans to displaying violent behavior on the pitch, Xhaka’s five-year stay at Arsenal so far has been riddled with controversies.
The 28-year-old never really managed to live up to the expectations since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach, and it seems Arsenal are now ready to move on from him.
Roma are said to be strongly interested in signing him, with new boss Jose Mourinho supposedly an admirer of the Switzerland captain. While personal terms between the club and the player are not a problem, as Sky Sports reports, there is a difference between Roma and Arsenal’s valuation of Xhaka.
“There are always rumours as soon as the transfer market opens but I don’t want to talk about my future,” the Gunners midfielder ahead of Switzerland’s opening Euro 2020 match against Wales, per Evening Standard.
“I am 100 per cent focused here with the national team… what happens afterwards, you will then get to know about it.”
