Arsenal have reportedly drawn up a four-man list of transfer targets to keep an eye on for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.

The summer transfer window hasn’t even opened yet, but Arsenal are wasting no time in getting started. Reports have linked the club with several players, and four of them will be monitored in Euro 2020.

According to the Athletic, Mikel Arteta and his staff have listed at least four players to watch in the tournament. The least surprising one is Jules Kounde, although Ruben Neves’ absence is a bit of a surprise. The Portugal international has recently been tipped as a potential replacement for the Roma-linked Granit Xhaka.

Below are the four Euro 2020 players reportedly on the Gunners’ radar.

Jules Kounde (Sevilla)

The France international is one of the biggest defensive prospects in European football. Just about every top club, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, have been linked with a move.

Kounde admitted last month he may leave Sevilla this summer to advance his career. But as Arsenal are not in Europe for next season, a move to the Emirates Stadium is an unlikely prospect.

Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.

Joachim Andersen (Lyon)

The 25-year-old is no stranger to the Premier League, having spent last season on loan at the relegated Fulham. He couldn’t save the club’s top-flight status, but did enough to stir interest.

According to reports, Arsenal view Andersen as a potential replacement for the departed David Luiz. Tottenham, however, are also interested in the Denmark international. Therefore, Lyon are prepared to play for a hard deal by slapping a €23 million price tag on the defender.

Denis Zakaria (Borussia Monchengladbach)

The injury-prone midfielder has a year left on his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. An exit seems imminent, it’s just a question of when. Gladbach have three options – extend Zakaria’s deal, make a sale this summer, or allow him to leave in 2022 as a free agent.

The second option appears to be the German club’s most likely route for a reported asking price of £17 million.

Arsenal have allegedly kept tabs on Zakaria for over two years. The Gunners may step up their interest soon so the 24-year-old can replace Switzerland teammate Xhaka and partner Thomas Partey in midfield for next season.

Alexander Isak (Real Sociedad)

With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s futures still up in the air, a new striker is said to be a priority.

According to the Athletic, Arsenal have eyes on Isak. The club’s technical director Edu rates the Real Sociedad man highly and isn’t put off by his £70 million release clause in Spain. At the moment, though, the Gunners are only ‘monitoring’ the Sweden international.
