Ace Football previews the Premier League match between Wolves and Tottenham, and offers betting tips, odds, line-ups, and team news.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham will lock horns at Molineux on Sunday evening for another Premier League showdown.

Spurs can make up lost ground in this match by claiming victory, which could move them as high as third in the league standings. It can’t be ignored either that they’ve won each of their last three visits to Molineux after claiming a 2-1 win in December 2019.

But Wolves, who occupy 11th-place in the standings, beat Chelsea by the same scoreline in their last home match and are generally tricky opposition to break apart.

Wolves Form & Stats

It’s been an underwhelming start to the season for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. Inconsistency has been a factor, having managed six wins and six defeats in their 14 league games (D2) to leave them outside the top-10.

A disappointing 2-1 loss to Burnley last Monday, meanwhile, was Wolves’ third in their last four league games (W1). They’ve also only won three of their seven home games this season, drawing twice and losing the other two.

Losing Raul Jimenez to injury has taken a heavy toll. The Wanderers have averaged just 0.7 goals-per-match in the Premier League without their star striker compared to the 1.3 goals-per-match they enjoyed when he started.

Wolves also seem to have tailed off in the backline. Nuno’s men only boast the 10th-best defensive record this season on 19 conceded goals and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven games.

Key Team Stats
  • Lost 3 of their last four league games (W1).
  • Failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 7 league games.
  • Averaged just 0.7 goals-per-match without Raul Jimenez.
  • Scored just 3 goals from set-pieces this season.
  • Adama Traore has failed to provide a goal or assist in his last 21 league games.

Tottenham Form & Stats

A 3-1 midweek win away to Championship side Stoke City, meanwhile, secured Tottenham an EFL Cup semi-final spot and snapped them out of a two-match losing streak.

Jose Mourinho’s side will now look to get their Premier League title challenge back on track. A three-match winless run, including back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Leicester City, has left them eighth in the standings.

But with pacesetters Liverpool still just six points ahead, along with the possibility of moving into third by the end of the weekend, Spurs have plenty to play for at Wolves.

The Lilywhites have been impressive on the road this season, having won four of their seven league games (D2 L1). They’ve also won in each of their last three visits to Molineux. And a victory on Sunday would set them up nicely for back-to-back matches against Fulham and Leeds United.

Key Team Stats
  • Winless in their last 3 league games (D1 L2).
  • Haven’t lost 3 league games in a row since November 2012.
  • Failed to win their last 3 away league games (D2 L1).
  • Harry Kane has managed 9 goals and a league-best 10 assists in 14 games.
  • Won their last 3 away games against Wolves and scored at least twice in each of them.
