After Barcelona’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, the big question is who will be in charge of the club for the 2020/21 season?

There has been no official statement from Barcelona following the eight-two defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich the champions league.

Perhaps the closest thing was a match report entitled “a painful for exit”, which were preceded by Gerard Pique’s “rock bottom” remarks and Quique Setien’s “tough defeat” comment.

Other than that the club’s official website has been rather quiet.

The rumor mill however has been anything but, and all the talk points to the imminent departure of Setien and possibly even director of football Eric Abidal, both as soon as Monday.

So the question is who is going to be incharge at the Camp Nou next season?

We give you the rundown on some of the odds and the ideas bouncing around.

Let’s start with the firm favorite, Mauricio Pochettino. According to the bookies, Odds Checker has him at evens with some and as short as 4 to 5 on in others.

The former Spurs boss has been unemployed since being relieved of his duties in north London and is highly regarded as one of the most prodigious managers in the business. This, however, would be a huge jump from an above-average Premier League side to one of the giants of the footballing world.

The only stumbling block may be his ties to Catalonia’s other side, Espanyol.

What do you think is Poch the man who has never actually won anything, the right guy to revive Barca’s fortunes?

Xavi Hernandez is our second candidate and still said to be on the shortlist, even though he recently signed a one-year extension with Qatar side Al Sadd.

The club legend is considered by many as the future of Barcelona’s management and may be worth a punt with odds as long as 21 to 10 and as short as 7 to 4.

Perhaps the only thing against Xavi is the fact the Qatari Stars league side is his only managerial experience.

Is Xavi a good move for Barca or a step to soon for this budding manager?

As recently as last week there were rumors the players had told President Bartomeu they wanted Patrick Kluivert to take the reins.

The Dutchman is third on the list, and a club legend, but has no managerial experience to really speak of. An assistant manager’s role with Cameroon. The boss of footballing minnows Curacao as well as flirting around helping out with youth teams and academies.

He is currently overseeing the La Masia academy at Barca.  But the credentials to monitor the progress of a youth program and pulling the strings of a team including the likes of Lionel Messi are a million miles apart in all honesty.

However, the bookies give him a decent shot at the big time. Kluivert is available at 8 to 1.

Should a club so prestigious really allow a relative novice to cut his teeth at the Camp Nou?

Are we jumping the gun in getting rid of Quique Setien?

The club has publicly backed the former Real Betis man, and given their financial woes, can they really afford to sack him.

This will involve a handsome pay off as well as a transfer war chest for whoever comes in to make the team their own.

The bookies don’t seem convinced that he will go and still have him as the second favorite to be in charge for 2020/21. Paddy Power is only offering 2 to 1 on him still being in charge come the start of the new season.

What do you think?
