The Portuguese manager asserted that his coaching philosophy is still the best in the world after his side’s fifth slip-up in six league games.

Jose Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that Tottenham, who have been in miserable form lately, are facing a crisis.

Tottenham slipped to a 2-1 defeat against West Ham United in their latest Premier League outing on Sunday.

It marked a fifth defeat in the last six league matches for the north London side, who have won only three of their last 13 top-flight games.

The damaging London derby loss leaves Spurs at ninth in the Premier League standings, nine points off the top four.

In his first half-century games in charge, Mourinho has now suffered 15 defeats – more than double the amount of defeats in his first 50 games in charge of any other club.

From his first 50 games in charge of the club, the ex-Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Porto boss has managed 81 points – the lowest tally at any stage of his career.

Asked if recent disappointments have him questioning his methods, the Portuguese tactician told Sky Sports: “Not at all, zero. Sometimes results are a consequence of multiple situations in football. Mine, and my coaching staff’s methods, are second to nobody in the world.

“I don’t know what you mean by crisis. “If crisis is frustration and sadness in the dressing room, I would say so, because nobody is happy, we all showed that in this game.

Mourinho added: “When a team fights the way we did until the last second trying to get a different result, it is never a group in crisis. Groups are in crisis when you are not together in the search for better results than you have.

“So I wouldn’t say crisis, I would say a really bad run of results. That is obvious. We are losing too many matches.”
