The Blues continue their frustrating summer transfer window with another failed move.

West Ham have reportedly rejected Chelsea’s offer to sign Declan Rice.

The Hammers have repeatedly insisted they won’t let the England international leave the club on a cut-price fee.

A £150m valuation by West Ham has fended off many Premier League suitors. But Chelsea have retained their hope of reaching an agreement with their city-rivals.

According to 90min, the Blues have inquired about the possibility of a move for Rice recently. But, West Ham’s majority shareholder David Sullivan has reportedly ruled out a summer move for the midfielder.

Chelsea might make another bid by offering Armando Broja and Ross Barkley in part exchange for Rice. However, given West Ham’s plans to build their next season’s team around the 23-year-old, it is unlikely they will reach an agreement with the Blues.

West Ham manager David Moyes is keen to improve his side enough to be able to compete for a top-four finish next season. The Hammers came close to doing so last season but ultimately failed due to their poor form in the second half of the season.

Rice is two years away from the expiration of his current contract at West Ham. The club are actively trying to extend his deal at the London Stadium, but he has turned down several renewal offers.
