Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with a move away from Napoli for some time now, but the defender is not losing his sleep over a transfer.

Regarded as one of the best in his position in all of Europe, Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly’s future has long been a subject of speculation.

Liverpool are the team most frequently linked with him, though interest from other Premier League sides as well as from La Liga has been reported in the past for the Senegal international.

It was expected during the summer transfer window that the 29-year old, with the intention of opting for a bigger challenge, will finally move on from Naples.

However, despite reportedly being on the verge of an exit, he decided to stay put and is now in his seventh season at the San Paolo.

“I love Naples and Naples loves me, that’s the most important thing. I always make myself available game after game, I still have three years of contract,” Koulibaly told Sky Sports.

“I’m calm, the teams are looking for me but I’m still here.

Injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, and Joel Matip have seen Liverpool get thin on the defensive front which could prompt them to push for the signing of Koulibaly, supposedly their primary target, in January.

And Koulibaly, for all his love for his current club, hints he might not be able to reject the offer if, or perhaps when, the Reds come calling for him.

“I play at my level and I help this team and these people because I want to give something back to them,” he added. “Then we’ll see what happens.”
