The city of Manchester welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo back in style as the Red Devils legend prepares to make his second debut for the club in the Premier League.
Manchester United fans are already swarming Old Trafford with their new CR7 jerseys ahead of the star’s grand homecoming.
Ronaldo arrived at the Lowry Hotel alongside his new teammates on Friday, just hours after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed he will take part in the club’s Premier League match against Newcastle this weekend.
The Portuguese ace will don the famous red jersey at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time since May 2009, and United fans clearly can’t wait.

At 9 AM (UK time) – six hours before kickoff – fans had already begun queuing outside United’s official store at Old Trafford to buy a CR7 shirt.
They even caught up with Sky Sports to discuss their delight in having ‘the best player in the world back’ while waiting in line.
🗣"Hopefully the trophy comes home at the end of the season."

Manchester welcomes Ronaldo back
It’s not just the fans that are delighted Ronaldo is back, as the city of Manchester itself welcomed the star back.
Road traffic information displays in Manchester have the message ‘welcome home CR7’ displayed. There is even a banner of his tribute message to Sir Alex Ferguson after he sealed his return.
CR7’s mother sends good luck message
Just hours before kick-off, Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores, posted a good luck message on Instagram alongside her grandson, Cristiano Jr.
The caption read: “Good luck Manchester! Kisses to everyone and happy Saturday!”
Maria Dolores has flown over to Manchester from Portugal and will probably be in the stands for her son’s second debut.
And, of course, Piers Morgan posted his own good luck message to Ronaldo.
As Arsenal engage in a relation battle 6-pointer today, the world’s best ever footballer @Cristiano returns to the Premier League. It’s almost enough to make me a United fan for 2 hours. Great player, great guy, great to have him back.
Good luck 🐐- not that you need it. pic.twitter.com/Tk6ZSVm9Zw— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) September 11, 2021
