The Red Devils boss has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will make his second debut for the club on Saturday but didn’t state if he will start.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Cristiano Ronaldo will play against Newcastle ‘at some point’ on Saturday but he refused to state if the Portuguese ace could start.

Ronaldo has been hard at work ever since reporting to Manchester United’s training ground in Carrington on Tuesday. He has done well so far and blended in with his new teammates. His overall fitness has also pleased Solskjaer, although the manager remains coy on what fans can expect from the new No.7 ahead of the club’s latest Premier League match.

“He’s been having a good pre-season with Juventus, played with the national team and had a good week with us, he’ll definitely be on the pitch at some point, that’s for sure,” said Solskjaer in a press conference on Friday.

CR7 has had a good first few days

Asked by reporters how Ronaldo’s first few days have been, the United coach replied: “Cristiano has been good.

“We know what he’s achieved in his career, but he’s come here to achieve more. You can’t go into training, give 95% and not be focused as that’s what he demands from everyone else.”

“He can speak for himself, but he seems like he’s happy to be back as well. The mood’s been very good, he’s worked well and we’re looking forward to Saturday, of course.”
