A second Premier League defender pushes for Chelsea move
Leicester City center-back Wesley Fofana has emerged as the latest Premier League defender on Chelsea’s transfer radar.
The Blues are already in the mix for Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella, but it appears they’re far from done. Fofana has impressed in England despite missing much of last season with a broken leg. Athletic Club center-back Inigo Martinez is next on Barcelona’s list of transfer targets.
Despite recently signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla, manager Xavi Hernandez still intends to strengthen his defense. Chelsea defender Malang Sarr would prefer a move to AS Monaco over Fulham.
The 23-year-old Frenchman has failed to win favor at Chelsea since his free transfer from Nice in 2020 and appears ready to move on. He is prepared to join Monaco on an initial loan, with a buy option included. [Standard]
