The young Brazilian has been the experienced Frenchman’s attacking partner more often than not ever since the departure of a certain Portuguese.
Vinicius Junior has branded Karim Benzema as the best striker in the world while discussing his relationship with him.
Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in the summer of 2018 – the same time when Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus after a glorious nine-year stint.
The 20-year-old impressed in his first few performances and quickly became a regular in the team, making 31 senior appearances in his debut season.
The young forward continues to enjoy the trust of Zinedine Zidane despite his meager goal contributions, evident from the fact that he has played in 24 of Los Blancos’ 27 La Liga outings this term.
“Karim is unbelievable, I’ve been a big fan since I was playing in Brazil and watching his games,” Vinicius stated in an interview for El Pais.
“Playing with him is easy, he’s the best striker right now, playing with him is good for me because it means having an idol by my side.
“He always tells me what to do and he likes playing with me as well. I always listen to him because I’m sure he does it so that I can improve and deliver more assists to him and also so that I can score off his assists.”
