The legendary Blues keeper played his first competitive game in 565 days for the club’s U-23 squad on Monday night.
Petr Cech appeared a little rusty on his comeback upon conceding two early goals in the Chelsea U-23 squad’s match against Tottenham’s U-23s.
The 38-year-old came out of retirement in September to register for Chelsea’s 25-man Premier League squad as an emergency goalkeeper.
He has since been training with the senior team regularly while performing his duties as the club’s technical and performance director at the same time.
But Cech’s return on Monday got off to a poor start by conceding after just three minutes. His first touch of the ball inadvertently prompted the corner-kick that led to Jubril Okedina’s opener for Spurs.

Things went from bad to worse 15 minutes later at the Kingsmeadow stadium when Cech conceded a second to hand Spurs a two-goal advantage.

But Chelsea launched a second-half comeback to ensure the veteran goalkeeper, who hadn’t played a game since the Europa League final in May 2019, returned on a winning note.
Myles Peart-Harris’ penalty and Marcel Lewis’s strike just past the hour-mark leveled the scoreline before the former scored a winner two minutes from time.
Both teams also finished with 10-men after 30-year-old Danny Drinkwater of Chelsea reacted furiously to a reckless lunge from Spurs’ Alfie Devine by kicking the 16-year-old.
