After bidding FC Barcelona an emotional farewell last weekend, Lionel Messi is now preparing to board a plane to join his next club.
Lionel Messi has arrived at Barcelona airport after reportedly accepting a two-year contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is available for a free transfer after failed contract talks with Barcelona. He bid the Catalan club farewell in an emotional press conference on Sunday to mark the end of a remarkable 21-year spell.
Now Messi has reportedly agreed on a two-year contract offer from PSG, which includes an option to extend his stay in France by another 12 months. He will earn €35 million net for each season.
The 34-year-old has since taken the next step by arriving at Barcelona airport with his family to board a flight to Paris.

His father confirms PSG move
Messi’s father and agent, Jorge, confirmed the reports to Spanish TV crews outside of Barcelona airport.
The 63-year-old arrived minutes before Messi, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, and children appeared before the media.
“Yes,” Jorge told La Sexta when asked if his son is going to PSG.
Asked who is responsible for Messi’s failed contract talks with Barcelona, Jorge replied: “Ask the club.”
Messi hopes to complete his medical and sign his PSG contract before the end of the day if things go to plan.
