An already historic night couldn’t be complete without Kylian Mbappe, watch his spectacular cameo for France against Ukraine.
Out of all the stars France has for the next decade, Kylian Mbappe is arguably the biggest of them all. It was already a historic night with two milestones reached by Camavinga and Giroud against Ukraine. The second half of this match was supposed to give Didier Deschamps a chance to prove more players in a more relaxed fashion.
With the scoreboard already at 4-0, Deschamps still decided to give Kylian Mbappe 45 minutes to play. We need to keep in mind that the PSG star is only 21 years old. Yet he already accomplished more than 90% of the world’s professional footballers. It was obvious he would want to be part of this historic night for France, as he didn’t take long to get noticed. A magical evening that still gave us a Mbappe cameo that we will never forget.
A brilliant assist and a missile of a goal.
Ukraine attempted to get back in the game during the second half with a goal scored by Tsygankov. This is all the queue Mbappe needed to leave his unique mark in the game. He assisted Tolisso for France’s fifth goal with a gorgeous backheel pass from inside the box. We were starting to experience another magical part of a fantastic French evening with Mbappe in the middle of it.
However, the best came with only eight minutes left on the clock. Kylian played the classic ‘one-two’ with Wissam Ben-Yedder in order to get himself in front of the Ukrainian goalie. He released a potent strike to the top corner that left every French player astounded, it was another beauty from the youngster. Perhaps Olivier Giroud can break Thierry Henry’s record but Mbappe scored his 15th goal with France at 21 years of age. Make no mistake, he will finish at the top of the table when his career is finished.
