The Senegal international may be struggling for form at the moment, but Ranieri is certain it’s only a matter of time before he’s back at his best.
Watford manager Claudio Ranieri is confident that Ismaila Sarr will soon rediscover his best form.
Despite a promising start to the season, the club’s record signing has struggled of late. He had another match to forget on Sunday as Watford fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Arsenal in the Premier League.
Due to Nuno Tavares’ frequent attacks down his side of the flank, Sarr played deeper than he normally does. The 23-year-old has now gone five games without a goal or an assist. That said, he is still Watford’s top scorer on four goals in 11 appearances.
Ranieri, who has described Sarr as a ‘diamond’ recently, believes the winger will be back to his best in time.
Asked if Sarr is low on confidence in a post-match conference at the Emirates, the Hornets boss replied: “I know Ismaila. Everybody appreciates Ismaila.
“We know he can do more, but he’s been working very well. He’s been working very well during the training session. And then I think, very soon, he’ll come back to show his [best] football. I’m very confident with him.”
Watford return to action on November 20 at home to Manchester United in the Premier League.
