The World Cup winner has been linked with a switch to the Premier League as he approaches the end of his Los Blancos contact.
Raphael Varane insists his “future is clear” amid speculations about him leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Real Madrid find themselves in a tricky situation regarding Varane as they risk losing him for free with his current contract set to expire this summer.
Despite the urgency of the situation, there is no news of the two parties agreeing on a contract extension. This has led to the rumors that the French center-back is prepared to call time on his decade-long stay in the Spanish capital.
Supposedly seeking a fresh challenge after winning every possible major honor with Real Madrid, the 28-year-old center-back has been linked with a switch to the Premier League, with interest reported from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
“My future is clear. I am focused on the end of this season,” said Varane speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first-leg, as AS reports.
“We are in an intense moment and we have to be focused on what lies ahead and that is the most important thing.
“It is normal that my focus is on the end of the season. The message to the fans is that I am 100% committed to the team. We have challenges that encourage us a lot. I am focused on giving everything on the field.”
