After going under the knife at a Barcelona clinic, we finally have an update on Ansu Fati’s recovery time and when he could return.

Ansu Fati’s knee surgery was one of the bad news that FC Barcelona got this season as he was one of their top players. The youngster was going through a perfect season as a teenager but his recent injury against Real Betis cut it short. Initially, we knew he had a meniscus problem on his left knee and he had the option to not undergo surgery.

The recovery of those types of problems usually takes a couple of months to make the player’s issue improve. We are talking about a conservative treatment that is used to avoid surgery, but the club advised Ansu Fati to go under the knife. They consider he is still at a very early age in his career and going through this procedure won’t stop his development as a professional.

Everybody agrees that this player is one of the most special talents the club has produced and they are willing to wait for him. This is the reason they decided to send him to the operating room.

How long will Ansu Fati take to recover?

After undergoing surgery earlier on Monday, the player completed a successful procedure as the club reported. They also spoke about a tentative timeline in which he will recover. We can expect Ansu Fati to return to activity sometime during the month of March.

FC Barcelona wrote the following statement on their official website: “The first team player Ansu Fati has been operated on successfully by Dr. Ramon Cugat for the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff. The player will be out for approximately four months.

“Ansu Fati played the first half of Barça vs Betis, and was very active. This season, the young Barça forward has played 10 games, 7 in the league and 3 in the Champions League. In total Ansu has played 596 minutes this season, in which he has managed to score five goals and provide two assists.”
