Barcelona chiefs have promised Mohamed Salah a transfer to the club in 2023 if he refuses to sign a new Liverpool contract.

The Egyptian forward has one year left on his contract. The plan is to stay at Anfield for next season. But beyond then, it remains uncertain whether he’ll commit to a new deal or leave as a free agent in the summer of 2023.

A few months ago, Salah allegedly told close friends he would sign a new Reds deal. But Barcelona’s verbal promise of a free transfer next year has made him reconsider his stance. [Mirror]

No Tottenham comeback on the cards for Bale

Tottenham have no plans to re-sign Wales captain Gareth Bale for a third spell in north London.
