The Blues boss highlighted the impact of one of his players following a superb victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel singled out Andreas Christensen for playing a ‘big part of our performances’ following Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Liverpool.
In a similar manner to Marcos Alonso, Christensen has enjoyed a change in fortunes since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as the manager. The Dane has featured in six of the German’s 10 games in charge, and he’s started in each of his last four league appearances.
These improved opportunities have led to better performances on the pitch, with Christensen thriving in the injured Thiago Silva’s absence.
Andreas Christensen made nine clearances against Liverpool, the last Chelsea player to make more in a PL game was in May 2018 (Azpilicueta, 13 vs. Newcastle).

And while Mason Mount scored the match-winner at Anfield, the 24-year-old was flawless in defense. He had Liverpool’s star attackers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane covered and helped play the ball out from the backline.
“Andreas stepped in during the middle of the first half versus Tottenham which was a tough thing to do, and from the first minute he is absolutely impressive,” said Tuchel in a post-match conference on Sunday.
“He is brave, strong in individual challenges, and very brave and intelligent in our build-up. He plays with a lot of confidence and I am absolutely happy with his performance. How he has stepped up is a big part of our performances.”
Now Chelsea will face Everton on Monday night for their next Premier League match.
