Spurs’ search for a new head coach continues but they have brought in a man who will take care of their sporting operations.

Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of Fabio Paratici as their managing director of football.

Paratici left Juventus last month after 11 years of service at the club. He was responsible for, among other things, overseeing Juve’s transfer operations, playing a key role in their nine successive Serie A triumphs.

The 48-year-old, who has also worked as a Technical Area Coordinator, is considered to be one of the best in the business.

At Tottenham, former defender and midfielder’s responsibilities will include managing and developing the club’s sporting operations, facilities, and footballing infrastructure.

He is expected to help the north London side in their search for a new manager. Spurs, who will not play in any European competition next season, dismissed Jose Mourinho in April in the wake of the team’s poor results in 2020/21.

Paratici told the club’s website: “I am thrilled by this fantastic opportunity and I thank the club and the chairman for the trust in me.

Tottenham is one of the top clubs in the UK and in Europe with an ambitious long-term plan.

“I will dedicate all myself to this new venture and look forward to working with the management team to write a new and hopefully successful chapter in the club history.”
