The Tottenham boss has spoken about a potential move back to Italian football.

Antonio Conte won the Scudetto with Inter last season, ending Juventus’ nine-year reign in Serie A. The Italian coach left the Nerazzurri at the end of the season, joining Tottenham for another challenge.

At the north London club, Conte hopes to end a 14-year trophy drought. However, the 52-year-old says he follows his former club’s progress under Simone Inzaghi.

“I am happy with Inter’s consistency because they are continuing what we’ve done in the best way,” Conte said after Spurs’ 3-0 win over Crystal Palace (via 90min).

“I can only compliment them, I think they have the basis to stay up there for a long time.

“Perhaps, one day, I could return to overturn the predictions again.”

Tottenham have already shown significant signs of improvement under Conte. The Spurs are unbeaten in their last six league games while pushing to earn a top-four spot. They are currently fifth on the Premier League table with 29 points from their 16 games. However, they have three games less than fourth-placed Arsenal.

Following their victory over Crystal Palace, Conte’s side will face Southampton in their next game on Tuesday. They will then prepare to meet Watford four days later.
