The England captain scored again for Tottenham in their win over Palace.

Tottenham smashed Crystal Palace 3-0 in a Boxing Day game on Sunday. Harry Kane opened the scoring for Spurs in the 32nd minute as they dominated the game.

The English striker matched Robbie Fowler’s record for most goals on Boxing Day. Kane has never failed to score on December 26, finding the net nine times in his six appearances.

Following Kane’s goal, Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son extended Spurs’ lead to secure the three points.

In a post-match interview, Antonio Conte admitted it is hard to put Kane on the bench.

Conte told BBC“I always say we are talking about a top-class striker and a player that for us is very important. Today I had the possibility to give him a bit of rest and for him to play only 60 minutes for us was important. Kane is a player it is very difficult to decide to put in a rotation,”

A ‘very important’ win

The Italian boss was happy with his side’s performance as they climbed to fifth place on the table.

He told talkSPORT: “It was a good performance. We started a bit slow in the first 20 minutes but despite this we created chances to score.

“The we scored the first goal and the second goal and started to take great good confidence, creating many chances to score and control the game.

“We got three points and this is very important.”

There were reports that the Premier League might decide to postpone the game a few hours before the kick-off.

“We are leaving this situation,” Conte added.

“It’s been three weeks now where we’ve seen games have the ability to be played or postponed.

“I said to my players to be focused and believe they are playing every game.

“We must protect the decision the Premier League are going to take.”

Next up for Tottenham is a game against Southampton on Tuesday. The Spurs will then meet Watford four days later.
