Having sparingly been used by Diego Simeone, the industrious Uruguayan has made most of his appearances coming off the bench.
Lucas Torreira is desperate for a move to Boca Juniors as he urges Arsenal to send him out on loan to the Argentine outfit.
Torreira’s stint at Atletico Madrid isn’t going as planned as he has been unable to make himself an important member of the team.
Only 16 times has the midfielder played in La Liga so far this season and just thrice has he been on the pitch right from kick-off. In total, he has made 23 appearances in 2020-21.
The 25-year-old previously made known of his desire to move back to his native South America in order to be closer to his family following his mother’s unfortunate passing away last month.
Reiterated his desire, the Uruguayan has urged Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to facilitate a move to Boca Juniors.
“I want to go to Boca Juniors now,” Torreira told the YouTube channel Perfil Bulos. “I am 25 years old and I know it’s a club that plays for great targets.
“I’d like to make the fans happy but I know it’s not easy. Boca should reach an agreement with Arsenal for a one-year loan.”
