Ahead of the expected UEFA Euro 2021, we have a Top 5 list of the best players to watch during the tournament this summer.

With the UEFA Euro right around the corner, we need to talk about the Top 5 players to watch throughout the competition. Choosing these five names wasn’t easy at all, especially considering the overwhelming number of talente names. Each country has at least one player who is worth looking at during the tournament. Unfortunately, not all the major European stars will be part of this year’s summer contest. Erling Haaland’s Norway wasn’t qualified to the group stage. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden did qualify but the veteran striker fell injured just before the end of the season with AC Milan. This leaves a reduced number of players who should shine during the entire Euro 2021. Let’s take a look at the most interesting names.

5.- Robert Lewandowski

The Poland leader is by far one of the best strikers of the last five years around the world. With his national team, the Bayern Munich star always delivers and this summer will be no different. As the Polish all-time top scorer, Lewandowski has a major responsibility to his country this year. We’ll be eager to see how he fares on Group E of the tournament alongside the likes of Spain, Sweden, and the modest Slovakia.

4.- Karim Benzema

We didn’t think we would ever see Karim Benzema awning the France jersey again but these are strange times we are living in. His overwhelming level of performance at Real Madrid was more than enough for Didier Deschamps to let bygones be bygones. Now that he will be the top striker for Les Bleus, they are even more favorites to win than before. Benzema is just happy he gets to represent his country once more.

3.- Harry Kane

As the leader of a new golden generation in England, Harry Kane has a major responsibility to lead his teammates to the Euro 2021 final. Even though he’s not won a single title throughout his professional career, nobody doubts Kane is one of the best players in the world. We are still eager to see what he decides with his future this summer. But for now, let’s all enjoy his football during this summer tournament. Can Kane be that leader who brings the cup home for the English?

2.- Kylian Mbappe

For many, Kylian Mbappe already is the best player in the world but he still has to prove himself against one of the GOATS. This is a perfect chance for the youngster to deliver stellar performances against Portugal and get that recognition as the best. Getting this won’t be easy but Mbappe was born ready for these types of challenges. If he makes it happen, he will be this year’s top Ballon d’Or favorite.

1.- Cristiano Ronaldo

As far as the Euros is concerned, this will be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last dance with Portugal. So far, it’s been a really amazing journey that started all the way back in the early ‘2000s. Now it’s time to say goodbye but not before trying to lift the title once again. Back in 2016, Ronaldo missed the chance to play the entire final due to a knee injury. He certainly has that unfinished business with his national team. If he takes his country to another title, there will be no contest to who is the best player in football history.
