Let’s take a look at some of the most memorable hat-tricks in CR7’s career.

As one of the most prolific forwards of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo has set some of the craziest goalscoring records in the history of the beautiful game.

The Portuguese superstar has scored 60 hat-tricks in his career, four more than his arch-rival Lionel Messi. A shocking detail is that Ronaldo has scored half of his hat tricks after turning 30.

Here are top five hat-tricks in Ronaldo’s career.

5- Man Utd 3-2 Tottenham (2022)

Ronaldo returned to Manchester United after ending his three-season spell at Juventus.

The 37-year-old was one of the very few players who maintained his brilliant form during the nightmarish 2021-22 campaign. One of his CR7’s performances of the season came in March when United faced Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese superstar opened the scoring with a sublime long-range shot in the 12th minute before doubling United’s lead 25 minutes later.

The Spurs came back to the game in the second period, but then came Ronaldo’s third goal in the 81st minute.

Following a corner from Alex Telles, Ronaldo smashed a precise header behind Hugo Lloris to win the game for the Red Devils.

4- Real Madrid 3-0 Wolfsburg (2016)

Wolfsburg shocked Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 battle in the 2015-16 season.

Following a 2-0 defeat in Germany, Real Madrid were looking to come back into the tie at Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo opened the scoring for the Blancos only 15 minutes into the game. He rushed back to restart the game as the hosts increased the pressure to complete their comeback.

Only two minutes later, CR7 scored a fantastic header to make it 2-2 on aggregate. Real Madrid kept on attacking but had to wait until the 77th minute to finally score the winner, and it was again Ronaldo who secured their brilliant comeback.

A stunning free-kick into the bottom-left corner of the net completed Ronaldo’s hat-trick and sent the Blancos to the quarter-finals. The Blancos eventually won the tournament by beating Atletico Madrid in the final.

3- Portugal 3-3 Spain (2018)

Portugal suffered an early elimination by Uruguay in the last-16 round of the 2018 World Cup. But their short campaign saw one of Ronaldo’s greatest performances in his international career.

A thrilling 3-3 draw saw CR7 score his first (and until now, only) World Cup hat-trick against David de Gea.

Ronaldo put Portugal ahead by converting an early penalty before Diego Costa scored the equalizer for La Roja. CR7 then restored Portugal’s lead with a powerful strike just before the half-time whistle.

Spain scored twice more through Costa and Nacho as they went ahead 3-2 in the second half. But then came an unstoppable free-kick from Ronaldo to save Portugal from the defeat.

2- Sweden 2-3 Portugal (2013)

Probably one of the most memorable World Cup qualifiers of all time, this Portugal vs Sweden match was a battle between two of football’s best-ever goalscorers.

Following a goalless draw in the first half, Ronaldo put Portugal ahead by converting a one-on-one in the 50th minute. Zlatan Ibrahimovic responded by scoring the equalizer for Sweden 18 minutes later.

The Swedish star went on to make it 2-1 with a perfect free-kick in the 72nd minute. But then came another unforgettable performance from Ronaldo.

CR7 made a fantastic run down the left-hand side before scoring the equalizer. He then completed his hat-trick by converting another quick counter-attack, sending Portugal to the 2014 World Cup.

1- Juventus 3-0 Atletico Madrid (2019)

Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are infamous for their defensive style of play in the Champions League.

When they ended the first leg of their round-of-16 tie against Juventus in the 2018-19 season with a 2-0 win, most observers wrote off Juve’s chances of pulling off a comeback.

But of course, they were underestimating Ronaldo’s magic in the Champions League. The Juventus star scored a towering header to make it 1-0 for the hosts in the 27th minute.

Juventus increased the pressure on Atletico’s backline and finally managed to score another goal early in the second half. Another brilliant header made it 3-2 on aggregate before CR7 completed his hat-trick and Juve’s comeback by converting a penalty in the 85th minute.
