In 2008, Valladolid’s Joseba Llorente etched his name in history by scoring the fastest goal in La Liga history against Espanyol. Llorente capitalized on a long pass from Victor and deftly clipped the ball over the keeper to register a goal only 7.8 seconds into the match.
*For a short period, Seydou Keita’s goal was considered to be the fastest goal in the competition’s history. The first estimate was that Keita’s goal was scored about 7.6 seconds into the game.
However, according to Guinness World Records, the goal was revealed to be the third fastest goal in La Liga history upon more accurate timing.
