Ahead of a tough week for them in Ligue 1, PSG’s Thomas Tuchel is concerned about the fitness of one of his biggest stars.
PSG’s Thomas Tuchel is doing everything he can in order to keep most of his players fit for the remainder of 2020. Not having Neymar has taken a huge toll on the French giants as he is arguably one of the best players they have. They also have Kylian Mbappe but he can also struggle with some physical problems from time to time. The key to keeping him in form will be to not overcharge him with too many matches throughout the season.
PSG face Strasbourg in a mid-week Ligue 1 fixture and Tuchel still doesn’t know which starting XI he will use. In fact, the German manager is flat out concerned about some of the players who haven’t gotten proper rest. The year 2020 has been complicated for all the clubs in the world but the most powerful are the ones with the heavy calendar.
Tuchel is still undecided for tomorrow.
While talking to Goal, Tuchel said the following: “I don’t know what to do for tomorrow, I haven’t decided yet in terms of who is going to play. Some guys are at risk with their injuries, I haven’t decided yet, I still need to talk to the doctor and to the physio about players and wait for the training session later. The situation is as it is right now, we don’t know what we will do in the transfer window, I haven’t thought about it too much to be honest..
“We always need to adapt to the current situation, we had a spell in the Champions League and the group phase was difficult, I couldn’t think about anything else. The most important thing is to have fewer injuries. That’s my focus right now. We really need all of the players and it really is too much for us with the injuries this season. Maybe it will be important for Julian to start. Is it very likely? I don’t know but maybe it’s necessary with all the injuries.”
