Today we celebrate the 22nd birthday of PSG and France star Kylian Mbappe by taking a brief look back on his career story.
Most players in their early 20s are still working their way up to a regular spot in their respective clubs, but Kylian Mbappe Lottin is an exception. In fact, he has already reached the pinnacle of football – which is something even legends have struggled to accomplish.
The 22-year-old is a World Cup winner, won Ligue 1 four times in as many seasons, reached a Champions League final, and won countless individual honors.
But what has made Mbappe truly stand out is his on-pitch performances, having managed 130 goals and 75 assists in only 200 appearances at senior level for Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco in his club career.
He’s also bagged 16 goals and 13 assists for France in 39 appearances already and was a key member of the 2018 World Cup-winning squad.
It’s led many to label the 2017 Golden Boy winner as the natural successor to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The iconic duo even named Mbappe in their top-three lists for the FIFA Best player awards.
The CEIS Football Observatory also rated him as the most valuable footballer in the world in 2020 with a market value of €259.2m.
Whether Mbappe reaches Messi and Ronaldo’s levels in the future doesn’t really matter, though. The youngster already has a remarkable career and will undoubtedly achieve many more great things in the upcoming years.
Everyone here on Ace Football wishes Kylian a happy 22nd birthday and all the best for the upcoming year.
