Seven players have not made the initial 29-man team for Arsenal’s pre-season United States tour.
Thomas Partey is one of the seven Arsenal footballers not on the club’s pre-season tour, but he is expected to join up next week.
The Ghana international has been touted with a summer exit from Arsenal. Clubs from the Saudi Pro League and Italian giants Juventus are interested.
Last Thursday, Partey played in Arsenal’s 1-1 friendly draw against Nurnberg. Yet, he did not join the team for the USA tour on Sunday.
According to Arsenal.com, the club expects Partey and Emile Smith Rowe to link up with Mikel Arteta’s 29-man squad next week. No explanation was given for Partey’s absence.
Smith Rowe, on the other hand, is on a prolonged break. The 22-year-old is resting after playing in England’s glorious run to Under-21 Euro glory.
Nicolas Pepe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, and Cedric Soares remain in London. The four players will continue to train apart from the senior squad. They each left the club last season on loan.
Due to an injury, Reiss Nelson, who recently put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract with Arsenal, has not traveled to the USA either.
