The Milan marksman ignited a feud earlier this week as he called out the video game giant publicly, and he has now got an official reply.

On Monday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined a long and increasing line of fault-finders of the most popular video game franchise, FIFA.

Unlike most critics, however, the veteran striker did not express displeasure over his ratings or the gameplay, rather his inclusion in the game.

The AC Milan man questioned the use of his name and likeness in the most popular football video game franchise while also ordered an investigation as to who handed EA Sports the permission to do so.

Tottenham loanee Gareth Bale was quick to show his support with the hashtag ‘#TimeToInvestigate’. Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola also joined the criticism, tweeting: “Hope we get the answer to our letters now @Ibra_official”.

With the moment heating up rapidly, EA Sports have now responded to the 39-year-old’s feud lies with FIFPro – the union which represents around 65,000 players across the world.

“The licensing arguments being played out in social media for effect are not an issue for EA or EA Sports. This is between FIFPro, the players within their association, and their representatives,” the developers told Forbes.

“FIFPro has told us this is their issue, and they’re handling it — we expect a statement to that effect imminently.

“This isn’t our fight. This isn’t about EA Sports or video games, players or fans. It’s a battle between football agents and FIFPro.”
